Lesson plans from M.Y. S.P.A.C.E. teachers for grade school through high school and you can submit your own lesson plan to the Satellite Educators M.Y. S.P.A.C.E. team via email.
The Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE) is a distributed community effort sponsored by the National Science Foundation involving educators, students, and scientists working together to improve the quality, quantity, and efficiency of teaching and learning about the Earth system at all levels.
DLESE supports Earth system science education by providing:
bulletAccess to high-quality collections of educational resources
bulletAccess to Earth data sets and imagery, including the tools and interfaces that enable their effective use in educational settings
bulletSupport services to help educators and learners effectively create, use, and share educational resources
bulletCommunication networks to facilitate interactions and collaborations across all dimensions of Earth system education
Lesson plans for grades 3-12 studying magnetic fields and the earth's magnetic field via satellite imagery.
New Classroom activity with home project teaching students grade 6-8 how to read satellite images and how these images reveal features and events that would be otherwise undetectable. This plan comes complete with printable materials.
These items are designed for the teacher to use in the classroom or as background reference material.
